Patriotic song, dance competition

The Independence Day celebration was organized by Salesian College Sonada on 14th of August, 2019 in the college auditorium. The feeling of Patriotism filled the auditorium and was reflected through audience and participants at the inter-departmental patriotic song and dance competition.

Each of 10 departments vied with each other to put up their best performance.

Inaugurating the program, Principal Dr George Thadathil spoke about the Indian ethos of “Acceptance and tolerance and forgiveness which is a dream and motive of every Indian citizen.”

The judges at the event were: Visiting Professor Dr Thomas Matthew, Dean of Salesian Seminary Fr. Pritam Barla and newly joined Assistant Professor Sneha Mangar.

“The technical fault in the sound system sabotaged the rendition of our song,” lamented some of the Mass Communication students.

Most of the performances were dedications to the soldiers who risk their lives for the defense of the country and its people.

The events concluded with a guest performance dance by the ladies of Radio Salesian consisting of 3 RJs and 2 interns.

In his vote of thanks, Vice Principal Br. Augustin Joseph said that the winners of the events would be announced on 16 August during Bosco Jayanti celebrations.
