School girls visit College to study plastic waste management

Sonada, 5 September —A group of four class X girls from St Teresa School Darjeeling visited Salesian College Sonada to study plastic waste management project being carried out by National Service Scheme (NSS) group of the college.

It was the second visit of Miss Sapana Rai and Ning Doma Sherpa, along with two of their seniors from school on Thursday 5th September when they administered a questionnaire as part of a Survey on ‘Waste to Wealth’ an NCSC project 2019.

The 25th National Children’s Science Congress 2019 will be held between 27th to 31st December, 2019 at the venue at Gandhinagar, Gujarat.

Earlier, during their visit to college on Saturday 10th August 2019 the girls reviewed the Plastic Waste Management in the college and also had extensive study of Plastic Brick making.

After completing the survey, the four students also went on air LIVE at Radio Salesian 90.8 FM, the Voice of the Hills at Salesian College. The program was hosted by Radio Journalist Smriti. During the show, they spoke on their Waste to Wealth project as well as what they learnt visiting Salesian College plastic waste management project.
