Kurseong — A group of 24 Student Council members from 10 departments of Salesian College Sonada had a day-long training program at Auxilium Convent Kurseong, 14 September 2019.
The program was organised under the leadership of new Vice-principal Br. Joseph Augustine, Dean (Arts) Dr. Terence Mukhia and Campus Coordinator Assist Professor Sradha Pradhan.
Arriving at the venue at 10 am, the group had an ice-breaking session during which students introduced themselves and gained self confidence. It was followed by sharing on ‘5 things which students liked about Salesian College life and things which could be improved.’
Br Joseph helped students to come up with a brief Self-Esteem Inventory explaining ‘Failure is the next step to success’ and reinforced it with a quote “I will & I can’.
It was followed by a session on Basic Life Position (I’m OK & I’m NOT OK’).
Dr Terence Mukhia took post lunch session on leadership styles explaining ‘Leader is the one who knows and shows the way and chooses the right style for the right situation.’
Asst. Prof Shradha Pradhan spoke of the need for all around development and having sense of unity and belongingness.
The concluding session consisted of making suggestions for the improvement of academic and campus life.
