Two day freshers’ program concludes

Sonada: The two day freshers’ program for first year students at Salesian College Sonada held on 1st and 2nd July concluded with orientation program conducted by the Vice Principal Brother Jose Puthenpurackel.
The vice principal started the program with ice-breaking session to make the students feel comfortable. The students seated in a large circle were asked to introduce themselves and talk about their dreams and ambitions.
After a brief quiz on Don Bosco’s life by Fr. C.M. Paul, and the screening of a 31 minute film on Don Bosco, the students shared the scenes of the film that struck them.
After lunch students re-assembled at the A.V hall for briefing on the use of the library and information on college rules and regulations.
Of 274 on-line registration the total number of students who joined the college this year was 127. They include students of English Hons (40), Political Science Hons (22), Sociology Hons (12), Mass communication and Journalism Hons (11), Hons (9), B.Voc (12), B.A Programme (5), BCA (8), History Hons (4), and Education Hons (4).
“On our first day we had lots of fun and the Campus Minister and the Vice Principal were really good,” says Farman Khan of B.VOC department.
“ It was indeed a memorable moment for us,” says Lakpa Doma Sherpa of English Department.
The inaugural session on the first day with parents / guardians of the freshers consisted of presentations by Principal, Vice Principal, Campus Minister, Campus Coordinators and HoDs.
